what we make

urban dog gear, made for the rest of the day.

runaway makes urban dog gear, designed for cities and the people who live in them with their dogs. The first product is the PawPack, a hands-free bag and leash, made to look at home with everyday clothes and on its own. Built to disappear into a day, not announce itself.

the point

more days, not bigger ones.

Their favorite place is wherever you are. A small apartment isn't a small life.

dogs don't need bigger lives. they need more of yours.

Bigger isn't a yard. It's the errand they came along on, the friend's couch they napped through, the coffee shop where they learned to sit quietly under a chair.

The relationship is the product. Everything else is a way to make more of it.

the mission

every dog deserves a home to come back to.

runaway started with two dogs who found their people. The work now is helping the ones still looking. The name is a noun, not a verb. Lost dogs. Found dogs. Dogs who get a second chance.

A portion of every order goes to shelters and rescues based here in Miami, with a focus on two organizations doing the work close to home. The cadence will grow as runaway does. Modest now, kept always. Shelters first, and the dogs still looking.

I started runaway because the gear made for my dog wasn't made for the rest of my life. I live in a city. The walks happen between meetings and errands, on the way to coffee or a friend's place, and most of what existed for the dog was built for somewhere else entirely. So I made what was missing.
